Students of leading Indian Institute had internship in TPU

A scientific internship of students from Indian Institute of Technology (Kanpur, India) successfully completed on December 23, 2015. Foreign students worked at TPU laboratories with professors of the Institutes of Cybernetics, High Technology Physics, and Natural Resources, Non-Destructive testing and Physics and Technology.

Lyudmila Larina, Deputy Director of IIE&LC, visited Indian Institute of Technology on March, 2015. At that time Cooperation agreement within scientific internship for Indian students was signed.

The project is successful because of developing contacts between Russian and Indian Universities, and agreement on Network University BRICS Foundation. Yuri Borovikov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs signed Declaration between leading Indian and Russian Universities on May, 2015 and Cooperation agreement with Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. It became a basis for such internships, noted Lyudmila Larina.

Students chose various fundamental and applied research directions in mechatronics, robotics and automatic control equipment. They took part in nanomaterials production, studied its structure and properties, mathematic modeling of physical processes in charged particle beams and plasma electromagnetic waves.

The closing meeting was hold in the Institute of International Education and Language Communication on December 22, 2015. Students noted that there were some difficulties connected with educational, scientific processes but colleagues and scientific advisers helped to cope with them. It was valuable experience especially for Indian students. Some of them shared their impressions:

I liked skiing and skating very much, it was unforgettable. Also teachers and people in Tomsk are very pleasant and helpful, said Radjat Verma.

The first idea was winter, Siberia! And it was really hard for us to be in foreign country but TPU teachers and colleagues helped us and we got unforgettable experience, - noted Utkarsh Wishal.

The most valuable for students was practice-oriented studies at university laboratories.

After visit of Vyacheslav Erokhin, Director of IIE&LC and Sergey Aksenov, associate professor of the Department of Control System Optimization (IC) in 2014, Double Degree program Software engineering is being developed. It will contribute to further international cooperation with leading Indian Institute, added Lyudmila Larina.
