TPU: partnership with Indian Universities

From March, 30 till April, 10 Tomsk Polytechnic University carried out a full-scale advertizing campaign in India with the aim of recruiting school leavers and partnership development with leading Universities. The campaign included a great variety of activities - participating in the Competition «It is time to study in Russia» organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and Rossotrudnichstvo, meetings in Indian Universities, work with representatives of Rosnano, recruitment agencies and Mass Media.

A selection stage of the Competion «It is time to study in Russia» was held in India (Chennai and Delhi) for the first time. More than 180 pupils took part in the Competition and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation provided 15 quotas for school leavers from India. As a result of its great work 42 students applied for different TPU programs.

Considerable help and fruitful cooperation were reached with the help of Heads and staff of major Indian recruitment agencies: StudyAbroad (Ravvi Chandran, Office Head), RusEducation (Sayed Kamruzzaman, Director), Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Delhi (Fyodor Rozovskiy, Director) and Chennai (Mikhail Gorbatov, Director).

The key achievements of the meetings are signed Coopretaion Agreement between TPU and Hindustan University, approved Cooperation Agreement with Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Cooperation Accord with India Institute of Technology Delhi, Rajalakshmi Institute and cooperation development with Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
