Jack-o'-lantern at "Phoenix"

On October 25, 2014 the English-speaking club "Phoenix" celebrated Halloween in the International Students Center, dormitory 19.

Meeting moderators were Elina Mikhaltsova, the administrator of "Phoenix", a student of group 12111, IIE&LC and Alex Crowley, a student from England, studying at Tomsk State Pedagogical University.

The guests were told about the Halloween history and its traditions. Besides, the participants were offered a chance to demonstrate their knowledge doing the quiz. The moderators divided the participants into three teams and arranged competitions. The tasks included carving from a pumpkin the main holiday symbol Jack-o'-lantern, designing the most dreadful image and apple bobbing, one of the traditional games. It is worth noting that every team of contestants revealed a high level of creativity and imagination. As a round-up of the festive event, participants were given a sweet gift.

Anyone who wishes to join the English-speaking club "Phoenix" is kindly invited to participate in the next club event to be held on November 8, 2014. The topic for discussion and debate will be devoted to "Etnomoda".
