Mongolian Central Television to Shoot a Film about TPU

Members of the Mongolian central TV channel TV1, Tsendsuren Enkhzayaa and Lonjidmaa Otgonzorig arrived at Tomsk on September 29, 2014 upon the initiative of the Institute of International Education and Language Communication and by invitation of Tomsk Polytechnic University to shoot a commercial film about TPU which to be later broadcast on Mongolian central TV. This is the first time Mongolian TV makes a film on academic and research venues of TPU. Considering that Mongolia represents one of the prospective markets for attraction of international students to TPU and the city of Tomsk as well, these commercial shootings will enable to draw attention of the larger number of prospective students from Mongolia to Tomsk and TPU as a whole.

In the course of the programme, the guests will pay a visit to University departments including the Museum of history, Exhibition centre, hostels, and International cultural centre. They also plan to attend the tutorials given to international students of the Institute of International Education and Language Communication.

The outcome of their work shall be a film about Tomsk Polytechnic University designed to attract new students from Mongolia to the University.

Reference:

56 Mongolian students started their study in TPU in September of 2014, 52 of whom - on a Bachelors degree programme and 4 students on a Masters degree programme and post-graduate studies. Moreover, 58 students are expected to start their studies in October on the Pre-University programme. First students from Mongolia came to TPU in 2007 (2 students entered the Bachelors degree programme majoring in Economics) and their number is growing annually. Since 2007 till the present time, there have been 90 Mongolian students studying in TPU.
