The representatives of the Royal Thai Embassy in the Russian Federation made a one-day official visit to the Institute of International Education and Language Communication on September 04, 2014. The honorary guests were welcomed by the Institutes administration and the Director, Vyacheslav K. Erokhin.

The Thai Embassy delegation was represented by the Minister of the Embassy, Ms. Nitaya Jessadachatr, and First Secretaries, Ms. Bheraya Homkosol, Ms. Napamas Panyatrong, Ms. Oravan Permpoon and Mr. Phitsanes Jessadachatr. Additionally, the TPU students from Thailand, Pudpadi Kittiya and Pannipa Onnom took part in the event.

During the meeting, Vyacheslav K. Erokhin told about the TPUs educational programmes and additional opportunities for the international citizens arriving at TPU, as well as about extracurricular activities which can be offered to the overseas students in TPU.

Currently, there are three Thai citizens studying at TPU a Bachelor degree student, postgraduate student and an academic exchange student. Therefore, the issues of post-graduate studies in TPU and extensive support for students on the part of both Tomsk Polytechnic University and the Royal Thai Government were touched upon in bilateral talks. Ms. Nitaya Jessadachatr, Minister of the Thai Embassy in Russia stressed the readiness of the Thai side to assist in the development of cooperation of Thai Universities with the TPU, as well as in the recruitment of Thai prospective students to the TPU.

Unfortunately, the tight schedule of the delegations work did not allow a more detailed discussion of all topical issues concerning Thai citizens study at TPU. Nevertheless, an agreement on further cooperation on the academic issues was achieved. Both sides were pleased with the effectiveness of the talks.
