The exhibition, which opened on May 7, lasted for several days. It was organized by the Russian Centres of Science and Culture in New Delhi, Calcutta and Chennai. In each of the cities the centres provided premises to hold the event and rendered active support to participants. A delegation of 11 leading universities of Russia took part in the exhibition aimed at attraction of the Indian youth to educational institutions of the Russian Federation.

The event won a widespread support of the Russian and Indian mass media. At the exhibition they presented the University and its educational programmes for pupils and students. The event was attended by thousands of Indians, many of whom took interest in study at our University.

One of the trip purposes was to establish contacts with foreign partners: to discuss potential opportunities of cooperation in the sphere of education and science with the representatives of four leading universities of India (IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, Anna University, Jawaharlal Nehru University). Draft contracts were discussed and contacts were established with administration for international activity of these Universities.
