TPU Students Took the Third Place at the VII Festival of Russian Speech of Foreign Students from Russian Universities
From April 22 till April 26 of the year 2014 the VII Festival of the Russian Speech of Foreign Students from Russian Universities took place in Voronezh, where TPU was represented by Nguyen Van Vinh, Pham Thi To Uyen, Tsevegmed Gantuya and Purev Munkhgerel. All in all 17 teams from different universities of our country, about 200 young people from 53 countries of the world took part in the festival.
It was already the seventh time that the Festival of the Russian Speech was held. A team from the Tomsk Polytechnic University participated for the third time. This figure became symbolic for us since it brought us a deserved victory. In the team total, students of our university “Friends from TPU” found themselves on the third stage of a podium giving way only to participants from Voronezh State University and a team from the Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language. All our students were awarded diplomas.
According to participants of the festival, every day was very eventful. In the first contest the students watched the film “Pearls of the Russian Art” and had to write a reasoning composition on one of the themes. Participation in this event brought us the first victory. Tsevegmed Gantuya, a third-year student of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Technologies took the 3d place.
The most spectacular event of the Festival was a contest “Greeting”. The audience liked the performance of students from Tomsk Polytechnic University who told about Russia and Tomsk and showed their presentations and a film about our University.
Besides, there were other contests as well – reading by heart a patch of poetry or prose, role games, “Russian language in songs” and scenic performance of a song in the Russian language. It’s worth while noting that in the latter two contests our students were among the best. Purev Munkhgerel became a bronze medalist in the multimedia contest, having successfully performed the test tasks for the knowledge of the song “Million of Red Roses”. Tsevegmed Gantuya took the second place for a faultless performance of a song “Vysoko”.
At the end of the festival there was a gala-concert in which almost 200 young people once again confessed in love to the Russian language and Russia and promised each other to meet in two years within the walls of the Voronezh State University.
The Festival of the Russian Speech of Foreign Students from Russian Universities is held every two years under financial aid of the foundation “Russian World”. The goal of the festival is to enhance the interest of foreigners to the Russian language and culture of Russia, form positive attitude of the Russian community to foreign citizens, and settle the problem of harmonization of inter-ethnic relations in the Russian Federation.
