A piece of America in Tomsk

This autumn 2013 we are very pleased to have Matthew Petty working as an English teacher for students at the “Kosmopolit” language school.

Matthew has come to Tomsk from El Paso, Texas, in the United States. This is his third time to live in Russia, and altogether his 15th month to live in Russia. He has much experience under his belt with traveling around Russia – for instance, Matthew has lived in Gatchina and Kazan, and has visited St. Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhniy Novgorod, Cheboksary, and Ekaterinburg.

It is worth mentioning that Matthew’s love of the Russian language started in 2009, and lasts up until the present. Matthew is currently studying at TPU for one year as part of an exchange program through his university in Texas – Texas A&M University. We are proud to say that he is taking an advanced Russian language course here at the Institute of International Education and Language Communication. In 2015 he will receive his bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Russian language.

Both the students and staff of the “Kosmopolit” language school are delighted to have such a wonderful person with whom they can master the English language and American culture. We are pleased to have found a piece of America here in Tomsk.
