Preparatory department students’ visit to the Institute of natural resources

On the 29th of May 2012 within the framework of preparatory department career guidance programme 19 students of the Preparatory department, who are to take such educational programmes next year as “Petroleum engineering”, “Ecology and nature utilisation control” and “Environmental engineering and water utilisation”, visited TPU Institute of natural resources.

The students were given a presentation and heads of Departments of well drilling, geology and oil field development, oil and gas storage and transportation V.D. Evseev, B.B. Kvesko and A.V. Rudachenko gave an overview of the departments’ work and answered the questions of the students. Afterwards A.V. Rudachenko gave a short excursion to the laboratories and study rooms of the Institute.

Foreigners applying for the programme “Environmental engineering and water utilisation” visited education and research centre “Voda” (“Water”). The excursion to the soon-to-be students of the Department of Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology and Hydrogeoecology was given by E.Y. Pasechnik, who is in charge of the main educational programme “Environmental engineering and water utilisation”. The students were shown high technology equipment for testing water and soil and explained the main rules of its work.

All this made time fly and the time of classes was nearing though the Institute staff were ready to show and tell a lot more. The students received a lot of useful information and became more convinced that their majors are very interesting and promising.
