Chinese students know how to study even better!

On the 15th of April a roundtable discussion My job ladder devoted to the tenth anniversary of cooperative educational program of Tomsk Polytechnic university and Jilin university (R.P. China) was held.

The rector of TPU P.S. Chubik opened the event with a greeting speech. He congratulated the participants of the roundtable discussion on the first anniversary of the program and read a letter of gratitude directed to the rector of Jilin University Li Yuanyuan. In his turn, the deputy pro-rector for education and international activity of TPU T.S. Petrovskaya read the follow-up letter of the rector of Jilin university directed to P.S. Chubik. The deputy director of the institute of physics, the irreplaceable director of the program 2+2 Han Wei and the program supervisor Tian Dianping sent a video message from China containing congratulations to the participants.

The participants and the organizers came together to discuss the results of a long-term international cooperation and make plans for the future. In their reports students shared their experience in participation in the program, talked about their life in Tomsk and some problems that they had to come across in the process of education and adaptation. The program participants expressed their opinions on the ways of improving the quality of education through the program 2+2: the amount of Russian language classes should be increased, a free choice of subjects should be established, more Masters programme places should be provided for students, etc.

Teachers and program managers shared with the roundtable participants their ideas and plans. The students paid special attention to the idea of providing 2+2 program with 2 year Master course.

Besides, during the roundtable discussion the internet-voting results were drawn and 2+2 program logotype was chosen and approved.

Despite the official status of the event, the conversation was kept in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The participants of the roundtable discussion managed to maintain an open and direct dialogue between students, teachers and the organizers of the cooperative educational program 2+2, which, by all means, will guarantee a stable development and strengthening of cooperation between the universities.
